You know me from Crochetville. This looks to be a wonderful site that'll take me further away from things I'm *supposed* to do like housework!

My real name is Ellen and I live just southwest of Denver, Colorado. I've been out here for nearly 30 years; I was born in the Bronx, New York.

I'm called Birdlady because I'm owned by 28 parrots and ringneck doves. I took up crocheting again about two years ago after a 30- or 40-year hiatus so I consider myself an advanced beginner (whatever that means!) However, I learned from Katchkan that I crochet backwards. (I insert the hook from the back instead of the front and I crochet from left to right.)

Since I am a beginner, I am always looking for new patterns and stitches so I can gradually improve my skills

This is "gonna" be fun! Very Happy

Hi Ellen,
Welcome to the forum, a Pleasure to have you as a member. I hope you find the board informative. Please let us know if there is a technique you don't see but would like to learn. We will be adding new tutorial as time goes by.
Happy Crocheting
